    Day 4 : Fes – Ifrane – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

On this day, we will embark on a long drive, experiencing the diverse colors of Morocco as we depart from the ancient city of Fes. Along the way, we will pass through Ifran, a modern and clean city nicknamed the "Little Switzerland" of Morocco due to its greenery and altitude of 1665 meters, making it a popular ski resort. Ifran is also home to The Brotherhood private university, founded in 1997 by King Hassan II of Morocco and King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, where classes are taught in English. Lunch will be enjoyed in the Berber village of Midelt, situated at the foothills of the eastern High Atlas Mountains. From there, we will cross the tough mountains and witness stunning landscapes, including palm tree oases at Jbel Ayachi (at 3747 m). As we drive down the curves, we will enter the pre-Saharan zone, passing through Errachidia and Erfoud, famous for its pottery and interesting fossil quarries. Erfoud was once part of a huge ocean 350 million years ago, making fossils a major industry in the area. We will then head towards the red-colored sand dunes of Erg Chebbi at Merzouga, passing through Rissani, the hometown of the Alaouist dynasty. In the evening, we will go on a camel ride for about an hour and a half to witness the magnificent sunset in the middle of the high sand dunes of Merzouga, one of the most fascinating sights we will ever see. We will spend the night in a Berber tented desert camp and enjoy a wonderful view of the stars.
